Brian Connolly, President and CEO, Oakwood Healthcare and Chief Transition Executive, Beaumont Health will be joining the Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce as the guest speaker at the Chamber’s upcoming Business Builder Series. The breakfast will take place on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, beginning at 7:30 am at the Dearborn Country Club, located at 800 N. Military St, in Dearborn. Connolly wraps up this year’s Business Builder Series as the 4th guest speaker in a year that included the mayors of Dearborn and Dearborn Heights, Joe Hinrichs of Ford Motor Company, and Dave Lorenz of Pure Michigan. This series is designed to help local businesses and community partners grow and enhance their businesses and organizational goals.
This event, sponsored by Oakwood Healthcare, is open to the public and will include breakfast and networking, to be followed by an enlightening and informational presentation by Connolly titled “Oakwood to Beaumont: the impact on Dearborn and Southeast Michigan.”
Registration is required for this event. Early bird pricing is only $30 for Chamber members, and $35 for non-members. Walk-ins are welcome for $35 per ticket for Chamber members and $40 for non-members. Brian M. Connolly is president of Network Development and Future Initiatives at Beaumont Health, a not-for-profit organization formed by Beaumont Health System, Botsford Health Care and Oakwood Healthcare to provide high quality, efficient, accessible services in a caring environment for southeastern Michigan residents and beyond. It consists of eight hospitals with 3,337 beds, 153 outpatient sites, 5,000 physicians, more than 33,000 employees and about 3,500 volunteers.
Connolly comes to Beaumont Health from Oakwood Healthcare Inc., where he continues to serve as president and CEO. He returned to Oakwood in 2007 to reconnect to his roots, having held a variety of administrative positions at Oakwood Hospital – Dearborn early in his career. Prior to becoming Oakwood’s CEO, Connolly was president and CEO of Blue Water Health System in Port Huron, Michigan, following his service as president and CEO of the Daughters of Charity Health System in Los Altos Hills, California. Before that, he spent two years as executive vice president of Catholic Healthcare Partners in Cincinnati, Ohio, and 14 years as president and CEO at Providence Hospital and Medical Centers in Southfield, Michigan.
Connolly is a member of the board of the Michigan Health & Hospital Association, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, the Detroit Regional Chamber, New Detroit Inc. and the Greater Detroit Area Health Council. He is also a member of the University of Michigan-Dearborn Citizens Advisory Committee and the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor School of Nursing Dean’s Advisory Board. Connolly earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Western Michigan University and his Master of Public Health degree from the University of Michigan.
