The Ambassadors Committee is a group of members who volunteer their time to serve as Chamber representatives.

As informed Chamber representatives, the Ambassadors serve as the entity of the Chamber that focuses on the Chamber membership – the backbone of the organization.  The Ambassadors’ purpose is to assist in increasing the membership of the Chamber throughout the year by recruiting new members and spreading good will among existing membership.  Ambassadors act as a public-relations arm of the Chamber by attending various functions including ribbon cuttings, grand openings, fundraisers and community events.  Ambassadors provide greater visibility for the Chamber, i.e., more people telling the Chamber story!

Ambassadors gain experience and knowledge of how the Chamber functions and are prepared to assume other leadership roles in the Chamber.  They also have the opportunity to be awarded “Ambassador of the Year!”

Ambassador of the Month – August 2016

Bill Kren, Dearborn Congregational Church

One of his first official acts, as the new Pastor of Dearborn Congregational Church, was that of joining the Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce.  Rev. Kren believes in Church and in community service.

Dearborn Congregational provides opportunities for worship, spiritual growth, fellowship and service in the community.  They are a small congregation where all are valued and supported wherever they are at in their individual faith journeys.  The Church motto is “A Small Church with Big Worship – Less Really Is So Much More!”

When you enter the church building, you are warmly greeted by a member of the congregation and handed a church bulletin.  In the bulletin, you discover that along with the Order of Service and Church Announcements, there is a bulletin insert titled SERMON NOTES.  You can take notes and follow the reading of the Scripture text that is relevant to the sermon.

The Sermon is traditional, and the music is familiar.  We try not to brag, but we have one of the most talented pianists in all of Michigan!  Our Church Choir leads in the singing of hymns and choruses that lift spirits and bless hearts!  This is a Church that takes prayer seriously.  The Pastor asks for prayer requests and then he leads the congregation in a prayer of faith.

Sunday service is at 10:00 AM and generally ends at 11:00 AM.  A fellowship hour follows in the Mayflower Room.  Want to learn more?  Visit our Facebook page (Dearborn Congregational Church, UCC) or website:  You can reach Pastor Kren at 313-271-8552 or
