The Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a “Meet the Candidate” forum on Tuesday, September 23, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at the Fairlane Club, located at 5000 Fairlane Woods Drive in Dearborn. This networking event, sponsored by Comcast Government Relations and Office Depot, will provide an opportunity for candidates in the upcoming November General Election to meet and speak with voters regarding their experience and ideas prior to the election.
“For business owners and professionals in the community, this forum creates unparalleled access to the candidates. Residents and business owners have specific issues they would like addressed and this is an excellent opportunity to hear directly from the individuals vying to lead this community,” says Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce President Jackie Lovejoy.
All local and state candidates have been invited to attend the event. Candidates currently confirmed include Debbie Dingell (congressional candidate), State Senator Morris Hood (District 3), Harvey Santana (State Representative District 9), Jim Rhoades (State Representative District 11), Mark Somers and Anthony Guerriero (19th District Court), and Diane Webb and Jeanette Christie (Wayne County Commissioner).
Tickets are free for Chamber members (space is limited) and $10 for non-members. The public is welcome to attend. Hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will be available. Tickets can be purchased online at www.dearbornareachamber.org or through the chamber offices at (313) 584-6100.
The Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce works to promote the best interests of over 600 member businesses by helping them connect with prospective customers, promote their products and services, succeed in business through increasing sales and saving money, and to become a leader in the Dearborn and Dearborn Heights community.
