Dearborn Area Chamber Offers Special Event for Special Kids

Special needs children enjoy a fun ride at “Special All-Stars Day,” an event hosted by the Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce and designed to give children and adults with special needs an opportunity to enjoy select rides and fun activities at the Dearborn Homecoming Festival, which is put on by the City of Dearborn and the Dearborn Community Fund.

Special needs children enjoy a fun ride at “Special All-Stars Day,” an event hosted by the Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce and designed to give children and adults with special needs an opportunity to enjoy select rides and fun activities at the Dearborn Homecoming Festival, which is put on by the City of Dearborn and the Dearborn Community Fund.

 

Again this year, as part of the annual Dearborn Homecoming Festival on August 1, 2014, the Dearborn Area Chamber will partner with the City of Dearborn, Dearborn Community Fund, and Little Caesars Pizza-Dearborn (located at Monroe St. and Dartmouth), for “Special All-Stars Day.” The event was created to give children and adults with special needs an opportunity to enjoy select rides and have some fun in the sun.

From 9 am – noon at Ford Field Park, on Monroe Street just north of Morley, volunteers will offer games, activities, a dance party, face painting and snacks.  From 9 – 11 am, All-Stars will be the guests of Wade Amusements and enjoy selected ride such as The Fun House, Tea Cup, Tilt-a-Whirl, Ferris Wheel, Bumper Cars, Merry-go-round, Super Slide and Bumble Bee for FREE.  Light refreshments will be served in the shelter next to the tennis courts. Wheelchair repair and a visit to a Dearborn fire truck will also be offered.

Several local groups are participating and donating their services to offer this morning of fun and include Wade Shows, Inc., Polish League of American Veterans, Dearborn Police and Fire, Wright & Filippis, Memberfocus Community C.U., 1st Choice Urgent Care, Chief Financial Federal C.U., Aflac, Dearborn Kiwanis Club, Dearborn Heights Rotary Club, music by Lil’ Jimi Dearborn, Sam’s Club, Yogurtown, Edible Arrangements, Del Taco, Besek Photography, DJ Mark with MotorCityDJ.com and more.
